About Me

Hi! My name is Mari Pangelinan, a junior at the University of Oregon studying public relations and psychology. I’m passionate about connecting with people and creating meaningful experiences.

I currently work as a student payroll assistant for the University of Oregon. This role has helped me strengthen my attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.

My summers are historically spent working at the local pool in my hometown Normandy Park, WA. I have held various roles starting as a swim lesson instructor, lifeguard and water aerobics teacher. This past summer I took on a new role as the swim lesson coordinator and supervisor. This experience helped me grow as a leader and confirmed my love for roles that combine planning, communication, and community impact.

I have always been someone who loves to be on the move. I thrive most when I have a busy schedule whether that be traveling, working, going to school or finding new ways to meet people.

Though this is what I love most, I have been learning the importance of balance in life – especially after coming to college. As someone who has struggled with anxiety, slowing down and taking time to find balance has helped me discover more about who I am and what I want to accomplish.

I am excited to share what I have learned and how I am currently finding balance in a busy world. I can’t wait to share my experiences as I work things out, one step (and break) at a time.
